An invite for you to enjoy Sex and the City

Parkes Leagues Club will host a charity girl’s night out next Thursday, 10 July, featuring the hit movie Sex And The City.

Proceeds will go towards the Parkes YWCA Encore cancer support programme.

The movie night will commence at 6.30pm and include champagne and nibbles. Tickets are $16 per person and are available at the Parkes Leagues Club.

YWCA (Young Women’s Christian Association) Encore is celebrating their 25th anniversary on a national level through the support of NSW Health and Avon. The local group started in Parkes last year through the support of local organisations and businesses.

Encore is an eight week gentle exercise program, specifically designed to target areas of the body affected by breast cancer surgery and treatment.

The program, which is free of charge, provides the opportunity for ladies to share experiences whilst gaining information from guest speakers including prosthesis representatives, nutritionists and physiotherapists.

The next program commences on Friday, 17 October.

For next Thursday’s charity movie Parkes Leagues Club has invited several local businesses to display trade tables for ladies to enjoy ‘a bit of retail therapy’.

Participating businesses have donated items to be raffled on the night with all proceeds to go towards the Encore program.

Dianne Egan and Jodie Ward who run the Parkes programme are asking ladies throughout the district to make the screening of Sex And The City their Girls Night Out and assist them with their fundraising efforts.

Advance tickets can be purchased at the Parkes Leagues Club with tickets also available on the night.

13/08/2008 | I heard the funniest thing this week: Google Earth exists because a little man ran around with a video camera filming the entire Earth including all the towns and every single house. I think he’s related to the little man inside our refrigerators that turns off the light.
