The Reject Shop, one of Australia’s fastest growing and most successful discount variety retailers, opened its 148th store in Parkes last Thursday.

Mr Ray Jeffrey, Area Manager at The Reject Shop, conducted the store opening.

The new store at 272-276 Clarinda Street occupies a space of 550m² and is providing jobs for approximately 30 locals.

Ms Susan Sellings, manager of the new store, welcomed customers into The Reject Shop for the great selection of quality, low price consumer products.

‘We’re delighted and excited to be opening for business in Parkes,’ Ms Selling said.

‘To celebrate we are offering customers some great opening specials, with more than 7,000 products to choose from.

‘In keeping with the Reject Shop philosophy, the Parkes store will continue to provide a balanced mix of quality, low price everyday products, trend items and bargains.

‘Approximately 30 new jobs have been created in the local community,’ she said.

The Reject Shop operates a standard policy to apply the same price on single items in regional areas as those in metropolitan areas.

The hours of business are: Monday to Wednesday 9am to 5.30pm; Thursday 9am to 7pm; Friday 9am to 5.30pm; Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm.

The Reject Shop is a discount variety retailer of general merchandise offering a broad range of low price consumer products.

It operates stores in Victoria, New South Wales, South Australia, Western Australia, the Australian Capital Territory, and Queensland.

The company has a well-defined target consumer market that is attracted to The Reject Shop’s quality, low price product offer of everyday needs, bargains arising from opportunity buys and convenient shopping locations.

This is reflected in The Reject Shop’s strong brand awareness of 89 per cent amongst consumers aged 18 years and above in states where it currently operates.

The Reject Shop’s history of revenue and earnings growth largely reflects its focused and proven business model.
