Aaron needs a play-off to win

27/06/2008 10:08:00 AM
Last Sunday members played a flag event which involved the adding of a player’s handicap to par (35) and advancing as far around the course as possible before running out of shots.

Aaron Wilkie continued on his sub-par way of late finishing on the 9th hole with one shot up his sleeve.

In the last group was Sam Tory who also had a shot left after nine holes.

So the pair made their way to the 10th tee for a sudden death play-off.

To the taunts of his mates to put one over the fence, Aaron’s cool held and he put it down the middle.

Sam hit a cracker but it wasn’t quite good enough.

The results saw Aaron take home the Video Ezy trophy with Sam as runner-up and the nearest the pin went to Justin Sutton.

Because of the nature of the game no handicap revisions were necessary and no putting competition was held.

Best wishes go with clubmates Blake Smith, Myles Smith, Justin Sutton and Aaron Wilkie who are representing the Parkes Golf Club on Sunday in the Lachlan Valley DGA Pennants being held at Condobolin.

This Sunday at home, an individual stroke event for the Video Ezy major trophy with the putting, nearest the pin and eclectic competitions in conjunction, tee off at 8am.
