Clinical CYMS power past Parkes

30/06/2008 9:42:00 AM
Parkes Spacemen were dealt a lesson in teamwork when they went down 30-10 against CYMS at Pioneer Oval yesterday.

CYMS were clinical in their finishing as they ran in six tries to two despite possession being evenly shared between the sides.

The Spacemen were guilty of too many one-out plays while CYMS used their width and attacked Parkes around the fringes with great success.

The left-side pairing of Justin Yeo and Epa Navale enjoyed great success with Yeo crossing twice and Navale once.

CYMS jumped out to a 14-0 lead thanks to tries from Yeo, Sean Towsend and Steve Madden.

To their credit Parkes worked their way back into contention thanks to some bone jarring tackles from Ilisoni Vonomateiratu.

Semisi Tora and Heamani Lavaka made a series of powerful runs and Tora was rewarded with a simple try to bring the score back to 14-4.

However, just before the break Navale scored a heartbreaker as the big winger bumped off three defenders to extend CYMS’ lead to 20-4.

The second half saw Parkes have the best of the chances but dropped ball or poor options saw CYMS hold them out.

CYMS sealed the match with two tries in as many minutes as Ryan Drew and Yeo scored runaway tries.

Epi Sadrodo powered his way over the line from dummyhalf to make the final score 30-10.

Tora was the among the best for the Spacemen along with Danny Read, Dale Rodgers and Lavaka.

Justin Stevenson was also impressive in the final 20 minutes as the junior made his first grade debut.

13/08/2008 | I heard the funniest thing this week: Google Earth exists because a little man ran around with a video camera filming the entire Earth including all the towns and every single house. I think he’s related to the little man inside our refrigerators that turns off the light.
