Parkes under 18s girls finished third in Division 2 of the southern state championships in Orange last weekend.
For the second year in a row, Parkes went through the tournament undefeated but did not make the final.
Draws proved costly for Parkes as they drew with Orange 2, 2-2 and Dubbo 1-1, as well as beating Eastern Districts 5-0.
Lisa Caldwell was outstanding throughout the weekend scoring five goals, while Sarah Melhuish was also in great form.
She scored three goals and was selected in the 24-player southern state squad.
The entire team played well with Caldwell, Shannon Rosewarn and Michelle Somers having big games against Orange 2.
Codie Wakefield, Neralie Stuart and Melhuish were strong against Eastern Districts while Bec Cowling, Haylee Wakefield and Taylor Ward were the best against Dubbo.
In the play-off for third and fourth, Parkes had another draw 2-2 against Bathurst 2.
Haylea Rogers, Chloe Potts and Sam Rathbone all had good games.
Parkes coaches Matt and Denise Gersbach were thrilled with the team and said they were excellent ambassadors for Parkes both on and off the field.
