Parkes to play vital match

16/05/2008 8:04:00 AM
Parkes Tigers will travel to Bathurst tomorrow to take on Bathurst Souths in a crucial match.

Parkes are in equal second spot on the competition ladder, only two points behind the leaders.

Souths are only two points behind Parkes, with a game in hand.

Both sides will be desperate for the win which will consolidate a top three position.

Parkes have had a successful run over the past few weeks notching up four straight wins.

Souths are a very classy team with many state representatives.

Parkes will need to play with intensity for the entire 70 minutes as Souths are a team that can score goals at the slightest opportunity.

Codie Wakefield has been in outstanding form at fullback and will need to continue this form when marking Souths striker, Jess Hotham.

Parkes will rely heavily on their experienced players to play smart hockey and stick to the game plan.

Team for Saturday:

Annie Hay, Codie Wakefield, Sharlee Quinn, Angie Peisley, Lee Hodge, Wendy Rix, Alison Britt, Sarah Melhuish, Louise Field, Denise Gersbach, Lauren DellaCa, Janelle Thompson, Syann Allen, Lisa Caldwell. Players to meet at the Railway Hotel at 11am.
